Our Story

Originally established as a small family business, A1 Bakery first opened in 1992 in the commercial heartland of Sydney Road, Brunswick.

Operating as a Lebanese bakery and Middle Eastern grocer — selling a variety of bread (khobz), pita, pies, Lebanese pizza and Mediterranean grocery items — A1 experienced huge success in its first week.

Kibbie

We really recommmend you try our home made Kibbie. Deep-fried lamb meatballs mixed with cracked wheat
and onions, filled with sautéed minced meat.

Dips

Our meze style dips is served with turkish bread. It can be be shared as an appetiser course or light meal. 

Baklava

Our tasty Baklava is made from rich, sweet pastry made. It has layers of filo filled with chopped nuts, sweetened and held together with syrup.
